The Inaugural Function of Tarab Ling

A great gathering of local Tibetans, Indians and visiting scholars and dignitaries from abroad was honoured by the presence of His Holiness the Sakya Gongma Rinpoche and Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, at the inaugural function of Tarab Ling, on November 28, 2014, in Dehradun.

Tarab-Ling-3His Holiness the Sakya Gongma Rinpoche inaugurated Tarab Ling. Ms Lina, the Director of Tarab Ling, explained the aims and objectives of building Tarab Ling.

Tarab-Ling-1Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche spoke about his contacts with the previous Tarab Rinpoche, and the visions of the previous Tarab Rinpoche to build Tarab Ling.

The function concluded with Demo Rinpoche addressing the gathering, and reading the Message for the occasion from His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

In the afternoon Conference on “Interdependent Origination” Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche spoke on the principle of Dependent Origination, the foundation of all Buddhist philosophical traditions. There followed speeches from Ms Lina and Mr Michael, a professor in physics.

At the request of Gyuto Monastery, Dharamshala, in the evening of 31 March 2026 His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche concluded commentarial teachings on "The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Realm (Gadhen Lhagyama)", in the monastery’s new Dialectical Debate Hall.
