Tenzhuk-Formal Request to Kindly Live Long offered by the Alumni of CIHTS
On 23 December 2021, all the alumni of Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS), Sarnath, Varanasi, offered His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche a Tenzhuk, a formal request to kindly live long.
The executive members, along with many alumni members from various parts of India, specifically travelled to Dharamshala, for making the formal request. Convened at the vihara-temple of Gyuto Tantric Monastery, Dharamshala, the Mandala Narrative, detailing the inconceivably great virtues and far-reaching enlightened deeds of His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche was outlined by the monastery’s Honourable Abbot. The rites of the Tenzhuk were performed through the longevity deity Cittamani White Tara.
Later on the day, at the request of the Alumni Association, and convened in the meeting hall of Chang-gyab Sthavira Residence, Gyuto Tantric Monastery, His Eminence Rinpoche gave guidance talk to the alumni members, on the requested theme of “How Should One Be a Leader of Thought in a Society”. (Note: The translation of the guidance talk will be uploaded here on the website later, on 5 November, on the occasion of His Eminence’s 84th Birthday Anniversary. The Alumni Association will bring out a Tibetan-Hindi-English trilingual publication of the guidance talk on the occasion.)
