Teachings in Mon, Arunachal Pradesh
At the request of the various monasteries and institutions of the Mon region, Arunachal Pradesh, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche travelled to the region, via Guwahati, on 28 February 2022. The officials of Gadhen Namgyal Lhatse Monastery (Tawang), Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery (Bomdila), and other dignitaries reverently welcomed His Eminence Rinpoche upon arrival at Guwahati airport. On the way to Bomdila, from Tezpur, His Eminence Rinpoche visited Missamari, the place of the Transit Camp for Tibetans arriving from Tibet in 1959. His Eminence Rinpoche was among the first arrivals to the camp at that time. There is now a barrack of the Indian army. The area is still called as “Lama Camp”.
On 1 March 2022, His Eminence Rinpoche departed Missamari, and travelling via Bhalukpong, arrived at Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdila, where the monastery’s officials and the general sangha accorded a revered welcome.
On 3 March 2022, on the occasion of the Tibetan New Year, the officials of Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery offered His Eminence Rinpoche a mandala and the three Represents of the Enlightened Body, Speech and Mind, in making a formal request to kindly continue to live long.
On 5 March 2022, at the invitation of Shri R. K. Khrimey, His Eminence Rinpoche visited the area above Morshing village. The following day, His Eminence Rinpoche departed for Sela pass, on the way to Tawang. The Honourable Abbot and the officials of Gadhen Namgyal Lhatse Monastery, Tawang, reverently welcomed His Eminence upon arrival at the pass.
In the morning of 8 March 2022, as requested by Gadhen Namgyal Lhatse Monastery, Tawang, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche began a week-long (8 – 14 March 2022) commentarial teachings on the Generation Stage practice of Guhyasamāja, of the Highest Yoga Tantra, in the main congregation hall of the vihara-temple of the monastery.
In the morning of 15 March 2022, Gadhen Namgyal Lhatse Monastery, Tawang, offered His Eminence Rinpoche a Tenshuk-Formal Request to Kindly Live Long, through Dakini Rites, of the Lama Choepa (Delighting the Teacher) Bliss-Emptiness Inseparable.
In the afternoon of 15 March 2022, upon arrival at Dekyi Choeling, Lungla, from Tawang, the Honourable Abbot of Gontse Gadhen Rabyeling Monastery, and local dignitaries reverently welcomed His Eminence Rinpoche. In the morning of 17 March 2022, at the request of Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, His Eminence Rinpoche began 6-day (17 – 22 March 2022) teachings on Gadhen Lhagyama related with Migtsema (The Protecting Guide of the Hundreds of the Celestials of the Joyful Realm, related with Migtsema Verse Supplication). Convened at the front grounds of Tara Temple, Lungla, the teachings were on the occasion of Monlam Prayer Festival. His Eminence also gave a detailed talk on Chotrul Monlam (Prayer Festival to Celebrate Buddha’s Emanative Displays).
In the morning of 23 March 2022, Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdila, and the Organising Committee of Monyul Monlam Prayer Festival offered His Eminence Rinpoche a Tenshuk Formal Request to Kingly Continue to Live Long. The rites performed were through the Sutra system, and convened at the front grounds of Tara Temple, Lungla.
On the same morning, at the request of Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, His Eminence Rinpoche bestowed to the gathered sangha and general public a longevity empowerment of Amitayus, in the Siddharani system of the lineage.
On 24 March 2022, upon arrival at Thubten Choeling Balika Vidyalaya (School), Lhou, from Lungla, His Eminence Rinpoche was accorded a revered welcome by the school officials, local dignitaries and the general public. The following day, at the request of Sherab Sangpo Society, Mon, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a public teaching on the benefits of the Six-syllable Mani Compassion Mantra, at the front grounds of Thubten Choeling Balika Vidyalaya.
On 26 March 2022, at the request of Thubten Choeling Balika Vidyalaya (School), Lhou, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk on Education, to the school’s students, teachers and staff members.
In the morning of 27 March 2022, at the request of Thubsung Dargyeling Monastery (Dirang), Sherab Sangpo Society and others, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a public teaching on the benefits of the Six-syllable Mani Compassion Mantra, in the vihara-temple of Thubsung Dargyeling Monastery.
In the morning of 28 March 2022, at the request of Sherab Sangpo Society, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk on “Maintaining Wholesome Motive” and “How to Face Problems”, to the members of the non-governmental organisations. Convened in the hall of Thubsung Dargyeling Monastery, His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions. In the afternoon, His Eminence Rinpoche departed Dirang, for Tenzingang. On the way His Eminence Rinpoche performed consecration of the stupa at Rupa, and planted trees.
In the evening of 28 March 2022, His Eminence Rinpoche arrived at Gyuto Monastery, Tenzingang, where the monastery’s officials, the Tibetan Settlement Officer and the general public accorded His Eminence Rinpoche a revered welcome.
In the morning of 29 March 2022, at the request of Gyuto Monastery, Tenzingang, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave to the congregated sangha and the general public a brief teaching, and bestowed a Amitayus longevity empowerment, in the Siddharani system of the lineage.
At midday of 30 March 2022, His Eminence Rinpoche departed Gyuto Monastery, Tenzingang, and via Guwahati, arrived in New Delhi, the following day.
