Teachings at Gyuto Tantric Monastery

 At the request of Gyuto Tantric Monastery, Dharamshala, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave commentarial teachings on two important texts of the Highest Integrating Tantra: 1) Guru Pañcaśīkā (Fifty Verses on Teacher Devotion) and 2) Thunduk Lamai Naljor (thun drug bla ma’i rnal ’byor, Six-session Teacher Integrated Practice).

Beginning from 27 October 2021, His Eminence Rinpoche gave the transmission-blessing of the text Fifty Verses on Teacher Devotion and commentarial teachings on it over four days, with reference to Jey Tsongkhapa’s Outlines of the text.

From 31 October 2021, for over four days His Eminence Rinpoche gave the transmission-blessing of the Six-session Teacher Integrated Practice and its commentary. Considering the teachings were being livecast, and therefore of an open-audience nature, His Eminence emphasised the inappropriateness of going through the Tantric pledges and vows, and accordingly confined the commentarial explanation to Bodhisattvas’ Eighteen Root Downfalls and Forty-six Misdeeds.

In the ongoing circumstance of the pandemic precautions, these were in-house teachings for the sangha residents of Gyuto Tantric Monastery, convened with adherence to wearing of face-mask and social distancing, and the sessions limited to a short time schedule. For the benefit of those interested in the teachings, around the world, the teachings were livecast.
