“To dispel ignorance and to achieve the understanding, the perception, the right view, each of us needs some kind of learning, contemplation, and meditative concentration, through which knowledge can be transformed into real understanding or real wisdom. So, that is achievable only through education, education in a real sense.” (Knowledge) (Education/Training – Buddhist perspective)
“In relation to the teacher’s imposition of sanctions toward students, my opinion is that if the teacher is angry or annoyed at the student, and out of that annoyance an action is done, then that is wrong and would not help the student. In contrast, out of compassion, if there are a number of students who can only be corrected by punishment or sanctions, then out of the motive of love and compassion for the improvement of the student a certain amount of sanction is justifiable. In this respect, the sacrifice of the teacher is most important.”
