4 December 2017: In the afternoon, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche launched the book “A Life Unforeseen: A Memoir of Service to Tibet,” by Rinchen Sadutshang, a former Kalon. His Eminence Rinpoche gave a talk; the event was convened in the hall of Delek Hospital, Dharamshala. The book is published by Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Dharamshala.
2 December 2017: At the inaugural session of the three-day meet of “In the Path of Buddha and Gandhi: A Convention for Global Peace and Kala Sanskriti Sangam” His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a speech. Later, His Eminence Rinpoche also gave a talk on the theme “Integrating Buddhist and Gandhian thoughts in Contemporary Global Peace Policies.” The inaugural session was graced by His Holiness the Dalai Lama presiding, and His Holiness addressed the meet. The convention, which took place in the hall of Government College, Dharamshala, was jointly organised by Delhi-based Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti and many other organisations.
5 November 2017: This morning, on the occasion of 78th Birthday of His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, Gyuto Monastery offered a Delighting Teacher multitude offering supplication prayer (Lama Choepa tsog) to His Eminence Rinpoche; the honourable Abbot of Gyuto Monastery made a formal supplication to kindly live long, through the rites of mandala offering and the three sublime represents. And His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche graced as the Chief Guest at the concluding function of the Five-day National Intensive Workshop on Text Editing and Cataloguing Knowledge (Traditional and Modern) organised by Gyuto Monastery, Dharamshala. His Eminence Rinpoche gave the concluding speech and conferred Participation Certificate to the participants.
1 November 2017: His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche graced as the Chief Guest the inauguration day of “Five-day National Intensive Workshop on Text Editing and Cataloguing Knowledge (Traditional and Modern),” organised by Gyuto Monastery, and convened at the same. His Eminence Rinpoche gave inaugural speech and gave guidance talks, in the next two sessions, on importance of a qualified text editing, the theory of cataloguing and its importance; His Eminence Rinpoche answered questions as well.
28 October 2017: In the evening, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche presented opinions on the discussions, as requested, at the conclusion of the first day of The Second Panel Discussion on Buddhist Science and Modern Science, convened at Drepung Loseling Center for Science and Meditation, Mundgod.
28 October 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk on the theme “Secular Ethics,” at The Second Panel Discussion on Buddhist Science and Modern Science, convened at Drepung Loseling Center for Science and Meditation, Mundgod. His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions.
27 October 2017: Today, on the final ninth day of the present teachings at Drepung Loseling Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the commentary on Nagarjuna’s “The Fundamental Wisdom” and Buddhapalita’s “Buddhapalita.” In today’s sessions His Eminence Rinpoche completed Chapter 11, Examination of Cyclic Existence, and at the conclusion His Eminence Rinpoche advised on the importance of identifying the object of negation, and other important things; and for now the present teachings were concluded.
26 October 2017: Today, on the eighth day of teachings at Drepung Loseling Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the commentary on Nagarjuna’s “The Fundamental Wisdom” and Buddhapalita’s “Buddhapalita.” In today’s sessions His Eminence Rinpoche completed Chapter 10, Examination of Fire and Fuel.
25 October 2017: Today, on the seventh day of teachings at Drepung Loseling Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the commentary on Nagarjuna’s “The Fundamental Wisdom” and Buddhapalita’s “Buddhapalita.” In today’s sessions His Eminence Rinpoche completed Chapter 9, Examination of Appropriator and Appropriation.
24 October 2017: Today, on the sixth day of teachings at Drepung Loseling Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the commentary on Nagarjuna’s “The Fundamental Wisdom” and Buddhapalita’s “Buddhapalita.” In today’s sessions His Eminence Rinpoche completed Chapter 8, Examination of Doer and Action.
23 October 2017: Today, on the fifth day of teachings at Drepung Loseling Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the commentarial teachings on Nagarjuna’s text “The Fundamental Wisdom” and Buddhapalita’s “Buddhapalita.” In today’s sessions His Eminence Rinpoche completed Chapter 7, Examination of Arising, Enduring and Disintegrating.
22 October 2017: Today, on the fourth day of teachings at Drepung Loseling Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the commentarial teachings on Nagarjuna’s text “The Fundamental Wisdom” and Buddhapalita’s “Buddhapalita.” In today’s sessions His Eminence Rinpoche completed up to Verse 25 of Chapter 7, Examination of Arising, Enduring and Disintegrating.
21 October 2017: Today, on the third day of teachings at Drepung Loseling Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the spoken commentary on Nagarjuna’s text “The Fundamental Wisdom” and Buddhapalita’s “Buddhapalita.” In today’s session His Eminence Rinpoche completed up to Verse 14 of Chapter 7, Examination of Arising, Enduring and Disintegrating.
20 October 2017: Today, on the second day of teachings at Drepung Loseling Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the commentary on Nagarjuna’s “The Fundamental Wosdom” and Buddhapalita’s “Buddhapalita.” In today’s session His Eminence Rinpoche completed Chapter 6, Examination of Desire and the Desirous One.
19 October 2017: This afternoon His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued (from teachings in November 2015) commentarial teachings on Nagarjuna’s “The Fundamental Wisdom” and Buddhapalita’s “Buddhapalita,” in the main congregation hall of Drepung Loseling Monastery, Mundgod. In today’s session His Eminence Rinpoche began by advising on preliminary requisite of setting altruistic enlightenment-mind motive in listening to the teachings. Thereafter His Eminence Rinpoche continued from Chapter 5, Examination of Elements.
11 October 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a talk at the inauguration of “Digitized Edition of the sNar Thang bKa hGyur,” produced by Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Dharamshala and Norshing Project, Japan. Convened in the hall of Library of Tibetan Works & Archives, besides the talk His Eminence Rinpoche also formally launched some publications by the Library.
6th October 2017: His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk on the requested theme “Foundation practices for a joyful life and a peaceful death,” to a Hospice Group of professionals from the United States, at Lha’s conference hall.
5 October 2015: His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a speech on the theme “Status of Tibet Issue and Prospects for Change,” to the delegates of “Five-Fifty Forum.” Organised by Department of Information and International relations, Central Tibetan Administration, the speech, along with a formal reception to the delegates, was convened at Hotel Pavilion, Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
6 October 2017: Organised by Lha Charitable Trust: Institute for Social Work & Education, Dharamshala, in the evening,His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk on the requested theme “Foundation practices for a joyful life and a peaceful death,” to a Hospice Group of professionals from the United States, at Lha’s conference hall. His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions from the group.
5 October 2017: In the evening, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche graced as the Chief Guest, and gave a speech, at the Tenth Founding Anniversary celebration of the organisation “Active Nonviolence Education Centre,” convened at the conference hall of Library of Tibetan Works & Archives, Dharamshala.
2 October 2017: At the request of the United States-based International Campaign for Tibet (ICT), today His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a talk on the requested theme of “The specific thoughts and the three commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama,” to the officials of ICT, Washington, USA, at Norbu House, Dharamshala.
29 September 2017: In the evening, after conclusion of the Retreat, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche taking a stroll around the campus of Krishnamurti Foundation, Bangalore.
25 – 29 September 2017: At the prior invitation received few months back from Krishnamurti Foundation, Bangalore, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche led at the same foundation a five-day Retreat, for a selected group of individuals interested in Krishnamurti’s teachings. His Eminence Rinpoche answered questions and gave clarifications through discussion. People from a variety of backgrounds — teachers, scientists, business persons, etc. — attended the Retreat.
18 September 2017: As requested by the Executive Committee of Dhomay Cholkha, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance speech, in concluding the three-days “16th Central Executive Committee of Dhomay Cholkha’s Special Conference, convened at Kirti Monastery”, Dharamshala.
14 September 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk on the requested theme, “Mindfulness in Buddhism,” to a Mindfulness Group, from the United States, comprising of social workers, counselors, dentists, nurses, mindfulness teachers, and others.
It was organised by LHA Social Works & Education Institute, Dharamshala. His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions.
11 September 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a talk, at SOS TCV – Tibetan Homes Foundation Rajpur, on the requested theme, “Students’ perspective on the nature and objectives of education, and teachers’ and parents’ responsibilities and the ways of guiding, in achieving the objectives.” His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions.
10 September 2017: in the morning,His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk, at Tibetan Homes Foundation, Mussoorie, on the requested theme, “Subsequent to having done studies, the ways of bearing responsibilities in society, and to be gratefully aware of the kindnesses.” His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions. Tibetan Homes Foundation’s General Secretary, Assistant Secretary, teachers, staff members and students attended the talk.
9 September 2017: In the morning, Sarvodaya Mandal, Dehradun organized and convened in the hall of MKP College, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a talk on the requested theme, “Relevance of Vinoba thought in the current context.” His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions. Local dignitaries, teachers, students and others attended the talk.
8 August 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a teaching, at Sae cheon sa Temple, Yeosu, on the practices of the three capable persons; the way to practice Dharma; the importance of motive and dedication; and on other related practices. The monastery’s Abbot, sangha members and members of public attended the teaching.
6 August 2017: In the afternoon, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the teachings on the text “The Lamp of the Path to Enlightenment,” at Gil sang Temple (Tashi Gonpa), in the city of Ulsan, South Korea. At the request of the devotees, His Eminence Rinpoche also bestowed upasaka/upasika Lay Vows.

28th August 2017: His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a talk on “The stages of death, explained in Buddhist teachings, and in particular, about thugs-dam (sublime-mind; death-Dharmakaya meditative state) at Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute, Dharamshala. His Eminence Rinpoche answered questions as well.
28 August 2017: At the request of Tibetan Medical & Astrological Institute’s section of the project on thugs-dam (thuk-dam; sublime-mind; death-Dharmakaya meditative state), Dharamshala, this morning His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a talk on “The stages of death, explained in Buddhist teachings, and in particular, about thugs-dam (sublime-mind; death-Dharmakaya meditative state). His Eminence Rinpoche answered questions as well.
14 August 2017: In the afternoon, Buddhist Broadcasting System (BBS TV), Seoul City, interviewed His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, on Tibet and Tibetans.
13 August 2017: His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a teaching on ways of practising Dharma (spirituality), at Haengbok Seon (Happiness Zen Center), Yongin, South Korea.
12 August 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave commentarial teachings on “The Essence of Wisdom Discourse,” and related teachings, at Labsum Shedrubling (Center for the Teaching and Practice of the Three Trainings), in the capital city Seoul, South Korea.
12 August 2017: In the afternoon, upon arrival at Haenbok seon (Happiness Zen Center), Yongin, from Seoul city, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche pays obeisance to the sublime represents (images, etc.) of the Three Jewels and also the nuns and the Buddhist devotees paying obeisance to His Eminence Rinpoche.

10 August 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave commentarial teachings on (1) Jey Tsongkhapa’s text “Priase to the Buddha for Teaching Dependent-Origination, and (2) teaching and transmission blessing of “The Praise to Twenty-One Taras (sgrol-ma hkhor-bcas),” at South Korea Tibet Centre, in the city of Busan, South Korea.

5 November 2013: The following is an excerpt from the advice by Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche on “Making one’s life happy and meaningful”, given at Sambhota Ancestral Exemplary Day School, Gangchen Kyishong, Dharamshala.
24 May 2017: His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk on the theme of “Guidance on implementing the Education Policy in general,” at the three-days intensive training for Education Officers and Counsellors, organised by Education Department, Central Tibetan Administration, in the hall of Department of Information and International Affairs, Dharamshala.
13 May 2017: At the prior request of Socially Engaged Buddhist of Ladakh (SEBoL), and organised by the same, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk on the theme of “Educating the Educators,” to the teachers and those working in educating fields, in Ladakh region.
25 June 2017: In the evening, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche met the staff members of Jhamtse Gatsel School, located near Lumla, Tawang District, and answered their questions. At the request of the local alumni of Central University of Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, His Eminence Rinpoche kindly spared time and conversed with them.
25 June 2017 : Organised by District Administration, Tawang, and Tawang Monpa Employees’ Society,His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a talk on the theme of “Importance and Relevance of Religion in 21st Century,” at Kalawangpo Convention Hall, Tawang. His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions. The Tawang Deputy Commissioner and the affiliated officials, Superintendent of Police and the affiliated officials, Army dignitaries, teachers, senior students, and others comprised over-1000 people who attended the talk.
23 June 2017: This morning, on the second day of teachings by His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche at Gadhen Lhatse Monastery, Tawang, His Eminence Rinpoche continued and completed the teaching on Jey Tsongkhapa’s text “The Three Principal Aspects of the path.”
Thereafter His Eminence Rinpoche bestowed the enlightened body, speech and mind Permission Empowerment of Atisha system Four-Armed Avalokiteshvara with Two Entourages.
In conclusion, His Eminence Rinpoche also gave advice that the ordained need to abide by appropriate conduct, the need to take interest in protection of the environment, besides advising on other matters as well.
23 June 2017: At the request of Gadhen Namgyal Lhatse Monastery, Tawang, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche began the teaching on Jey Tsongkhapa’s text “The Three Principal Aspects of the Path,” in the Congregation Hall of the monastery.
Preliminary to teaching on the text, His Eminence Rinpoche advised on setting of motive and conduct, in listening to the sublime teachings, as instructed in The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. In the day’s session His Eminence Rinpoche completed teaching on the section of Renunciation, the first of the three principal aspects of the path.
22 June 2017: This afternoon, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche took a brief rest at Jang and bestowed blessing transmission of Manjushri praise “Your Intellect” at the Thubten Choeling Girls’ School at Lhawu.
Finally, upon arrival at Gadhen Namgyal Lhatse Monastery, Tawang, His Eminence Rinpoche was accorded a revered welcome; there were similar welcomes earlier throughout on the way.
22 June 2017: This morning, when departing from Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdila, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche participated in planting trees, and consecrated with ground-rites the site for a new Lamp-offering Shrine.At Dirang, in the Kalachakra Temple, His Eminence Rinpoche bestowed transmission blessing and commentarial teaching on “Declaration of [Vows] Downfalls,” and advised on the importance of motive and dedication prayers.Near Nyugmadong, His Eminence took brief rest and performed consecration of a Compassion Mani Temple near Sela pass
21 June 2017: In the evening, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a public talk on “What is education?” in Bomdila Auditorium; His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions. Organised by Buddhist Culture Preservation Society, Bomdila, the talk was attended by a large audience comprised of local authorities, doctors, teachers, students and others.
20 June 2017: In the evening, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a public talk on “The three commitments of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama,” in Bomdila Auditorium; His Eminence Rinpoche also answered questions. Organised by Bomdila Buddhist Society, the talk was attended by a large audience comprised of local authorities, doctors, teachers, students and others.
18 June 2017: In the morning, Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdila, offered a Tenshuk (formal Request to Kindly Continue to Live Long) to His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche. Also the monk students of the monastery presented, to His Eminence Rinpoche, a Dialectical Debate.
18 June 2017: Today, on the last eleventh day of the present teachings by His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche at Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdilla, His Eminence Rinpoche began by advising on setting motive and maintaining an appropriate conduct in listening to the sublime teachings, as instructed in The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment.Thereafter, in the tradition of former lineage Teachers, His Eminence Rinpoche bestowed Bodhisattva Vow of Aspirational Bodhicitta (altruistic enlightenment mind), through the presence of lineage rites.
At the conclusion, His Eminence Rinpoche gave a detailed advice as well on the need to retain and make flourish the Buddha’s teachings, and the ways of doing them.
17 June 2017: Today, on the tenth day of teachings at Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdila, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche began by advising on the motive and conduct in listening to the sublime teachings, as instructed in The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. Thereafter His Eminence Rinpoche completed the teaching on Jey Tsongkhapa’s “The Middling Stages of the Path to Enlightenment”.

8 June 2017: In the afternoon, at the request of Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdila, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued, from last year, at the monastery’s main congregation hall, the teachings on Jey Tsongkhapa’s “The Middling Stages of the Path to Enlightenment,” also known as “The Small-length [Presentation of] The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment.”
In the day’s initial session, His Eminence Rinpoche advised on the preliminary requisites of pure motive and appropriate conduct, in listening to the sublime teachings, as instructed in The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. Thereafter, His Eminence Rinpoche began teaching on the section: Training the mind on the stages of the path common with the intermediate capable practitioner.
6 March 2017: His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave an extensive guidance talk, on “Secular Ethics,” to the teachers and other staff members of Tibetan Children’s Village School (TCV Upper Dharamshala), on the occasion of “Orientation Function,” at the start of the school’s semester for the new year.
6 June 2017: This morning His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche kindly bestowed Longevity Empowerment, of Drubgyal (Siddhiraja) system, at Gyuto Monastery, Tenzingang, Arunachal Pradesh.In the afternoon, upon arrival at Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, His Eminence Rinpoche was welcomed by the monastery’s sangha and the public.
5 June 201: Upon arrival at Guwahati airport, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche is being welcomed by Abbot of Bomdila Gontse Monastery, Abbot of Tawang Monastery, Settlement Officer of Tenzingang Tibetan Settlement, Administrator of Tenzingang Gyuto Monastery and others. Prof. Rinpoche is also being received by owner of the hotel and others, when stopped for tea near Bhairavkund, Assam and also being welcomed by Monks and public, when arriving at Gyuto Monastery, Tenzingang, Arunachal Pradesh.
24 May 2017: Organised by Education Department, Central Tibetan Administration, this morning His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave an advisory talk on the theme of “Guidance on implementing the Education Policy in general,” at the Intensive Training on the Education Policy, for Education Officers and Counselors, in the hall of Department of Information and International Relations, Dharamshala. His Eminence Rinpoche answered questions as well.
Those who attended the advisory talk were the Education Minister; the Secretaries; the Directors and Counselors of Education, from Education Department, Sambhota, Tibetan Homes Mussoorie, Tibetan Children’s Village Dharamshala and others; Textbooks Editors, Education Department; and many others as well.
22 May 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche being accorded see-off at Ruthok Monastery and at the airport, by diginitaries, upon departure from Leh, Ladakh.
21 May 2017: In the afternoon, organised by Ladakh Buddhist Association Youth Wing, Leh, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a summary guidance talk on the requested theme of “Art of Living,” in the Nagarjuna Hall, of Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, Leh. His Eminence Rinpoche gave pertinent answers on questions concerning a variety of fields.
21 May 2017: In The morning, as requested for a visit, by Ngari Institute of Buddhist Dialectics, Saboo Village, Leh, Ladakh, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche performed Consecration Blessing of the Institute’s undergoing construction of newly hall, and bestowed the transmission-blessings of Manjushri praise “Your Intellect,” and “The Eight-Verse Thought Training;” His Eminence also planted a commemorative trees.
20 May 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a guidance talk on “Importance of Buddhism in Modern Scientific Period,” to the lecturers, students and staff members of Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, Deemed University, Leh, Ladakh. Thereafter, as requested, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche provided opinion, on the progress of the Deemed University, to the senior faculty members of Central Institute of Buddhist Studies at Director’s Chamber.
20 May 2017: In the morning, organised jointly by Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (Deemed University), Leh, UNICEF and Leh Nutrition Project for Teachers and Managers of Monasteries, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave the inaugural speech at the two days Workshop on “Positive Discipline Techniques for School Children,” for the teachers of the monasteries facilitated by the Institute at CIBS conference hall.
19 May 2017: In the morning, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche attended the celebration of Centennial Commemoration of Bakula Rinpoche’s Birthday, organised at the Polo Ground, Leh, Ladakh. His Eminence Rinpoche gave a talk. Many dignitaries and a large number of the public attended the event.
18 May 201: In the morning, at the request of Tibetan Children’s Village School, Ladakh, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a talk, in the school’s hall, to the teachers, staffs and students, on “Secular Ethics,” and answered questions as well.
16 May 2017: In the afternoon, organised jointly by Ruthok Lhundup Choeding Monastery and Ex-Army Association, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche continued the teaching, at Ruthok Lhundup Choeding Monastery, on “The Thirty-Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas.” A large number of local public also attended the teaching.
15 May 2017: In the aternoon, organised jointly by Ruthok Lhundup Choeding Monastery and Ex-Army Association, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche bestowed a teaching, in the Jokhang Temple, Leh, on “The Eight Verse Thought Training.”
14 May 2017: At the Seminar on “Relevance of the present education system and policies,” organised in the Congregation Hall of Thiksey Monastery, Leh, by Socially Engaged Buddhist of Ladakh (SEBoL), His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave, as the keynote speaker, a detailed talk, and answered in depth the questions from the participants. In attendance at the talk were school principals, academics, artists, teachers and many others.
13 May 2017: In the evening, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave a talk on “Educating the Educators,” and answered questions, in the hall of Lamdon Senior Secondary School, Leh, Ladakh. The talk was organised by the Socially Engaged Buddhist of Ladakh (SEBoL).
12 May 2017, upon arrival at Leh airport and afterward at Ruthog Monastery, Choglamsar, Ladakh, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche is being welcomed by dignitaries, the officials of the monastery and the general public in the area.
3 May 2017: Organised by Library of Tibetan Works & Archives (LTWA), Dharamshala, this afternoon a Tibetan translation – by lotsava Tenzin Sherab – of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s autobiography “Freedom in Exile,” was formally launched by His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, as the Chief Guest. His Eminence Rinpoche also gave a talk related with the book launch.
Those who attended the event comprised of Members of Parliament (MPs), secretaries and officials of the Central Tibetan Administration, media personnel, and many others.
27 April 2017: This morning, on the final third day of teachings at Sera Je Secondary School, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche completed the teachings on Ordained Novices’ Precepts Namtsedhengma, written by Jey Tsongkhapa. At the conclusion, His Eminence Rinpoche gave guidance advice.

Subsequent to that, His Eminence Rinpoche continued the commentarial teachings on “The Summarised Meanings of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment,” An Experiential Song on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment, written by Jey Tsongkhapa. Continuing from the section on the last two perfections, in today’s session His Eminence Rinpoche completed both the transmission-blessing and the commentarial teaching on the entire text.

Thereafter His Eminence Rinpoche continued with the teachings on “The Summarised Meanings of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment,” An Experiential Song on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment, written by Jey Tsongkhapa. In today’s session His Eminence Rinpoche taught up to the section “Generating ascertainment on the presentation (validity) of the path in general,” the first part of the two-part outline under “The way how to draw essence from the basis of leisure (precious human rebirth).”

17 April 2017: This morning His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche commenced, at Tsawa Khamtsen, Sera Je Monastery, the commentarial teachings on “The Summarised Meanings of The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment,” known also as “The Experiential Song on The Stages of the Path,” written by Jey Tsongkhapa.
At the start, His Eminence Rinpoche advised on the need to set motive and conduct, in listening to the sublime teachings, as instructed in The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. In today’s session His Eminence Rinpoche completed the Homage section, which touches on the great attributes of the source author of the teachings.

5 April 2017: In the evening, a group of students from Mount Madonna School, California, USA, met His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, at Chonor House, Dharamshala. His Eminence Rinpoche answered in detail the questions from the students, on Comparison and Competition; Need and Greed; Tibetan Spirituality and Culture; Greatest challenges facing Tibetans outside their home country; Non-violence; What do we need to do to begin to shift society’s idea of success and reorder our priorities etc.
4 April 2017: IN the morning, at the request of Kenyan Tibet Support Group, who is on a visit to Dharamshala, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche met the delegates at Hotel Norbu House, Dharamshala. His Eminence Rinpoche answered in detail the delegates’ numerous questions on Democracy, Secular Ethics, Tibet Issue, etc.
30 March 2017: In the morning, Gyuto Monastery offered a Tenzhuk (Stable Stay), a formal ceremony requesting His Eminence Rinpoche to kindly live long.
30 March 2017: Today, on the final day fifteenth of teaching at Gyuto Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche began by advising on setting of motive and conduct in listening to the teachings, as instructed in The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. Thereafter, His Eminence Rinpoche continued the profound experiential spoken commentary on Akhu Sherab Gyatso’s text “Akshobya Protector’s Words Transmitted,” concerning the superior Nagarjuna system thirty-two deities Guhyasamaja two-stages path. His Eminence Rinpoche completed bestowing of both transmission-blessing and the experiential spoken commentary on the entire text. In conclusion, His Eminence Rinpoche gave a brief guidance advice on appropriate devotion to one’s Teacher/s.
29 March 2017: Today, on day fourteenth of teachings at Gyuto Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche began by advising on motive and conduct in listening to the sublime teachings, as instructed in The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. Thereafter His Eminence continued the profound experiential spoken commentary on Akhu Sherab Gyatso’s text “Akshyobya Protector’s Words Transmitted,” concerning the superior Nagarjuna system thirteen deities glorious Guhyasamaja’s two-stages path. Of the actual section of Guhyasamaja completion stage, in today’s sessions His Eminence completed the commentary on the three isolations, and finished bestowing the transmission blessing of the entire completion stage.

17 March 2017: Today, on the second day of teachings at Gyuto Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche first advised on the stages of setting the motive, as the preliminary, and stressed the need for studies into the Mantra path.
Thereafter His Eminence Rinpoche began the spoken commentarial teachings on the two-stages path of the glorious Guhyasamaja, of the superior Nagarjuna system, through Akhu Sherab Gyatso’s text, “Akshobya Protector’s Words Transmitted.” In today’s session the General [Introductory] Explanation, and the chronological narration of the teaching of the Tantra, were completed.
16 March 2017: This afternoon His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche began, at Gyuto Monastery, Dharamshala, preliminary commentarial teachings on the two-stages path of the superior Nagarjuna system Thirty-two Deities Guhyasamaja, through the text, “Akshobya Protector’s Words Transmitted,” by Jeytsun Sherab Gyatso.
His Eminence Rinpoche emphasised in detail the need for training on the common path, for entering the speedy Mantra path, starting with reflections on preciousness of the human rebirth characterised by the eighteen attributes of opportunities and endowments, and so forth. His Eminence Rinpoche also gave introductory remarks on the text and its author.

His Eminence Rinpoche gave a talk on compassion. Over a ten thousand dignitaries and members of public attended the talk.

6th January 2017: prior to the Preliminary Teachings for the Kalachakra Empowerment by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, a group of religious leaders from various faiths — who attends a Remembrance Conference on the occasion of the 350th Birth Anniversary of the Sikh’s 10 Great Teacher Guru Gobind Singh, in Patna city — comes for a special audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and there takes place an Interfaith Meet of the religious leaders, and each of the religious leaders address the Meet; at the end, His Holiness the Dalai Lama gives an advisory talk, which His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche translates into Hindi language.

Prof. Rinpoche gave a speech at the Kalmyk State University on Acharya Nagarjuna’s “Letter to a Friend” at the conference hall, main temple, Elista. He also attended a press conference.
• 3rd June 2014: Prof. Rinpoche reached Elista, the capital city of Kalmykia Republic via Moscow from Ulan-Ude.

• 1st May 2014: Prof. Rinpoche inaugurated the late Ven. Lobsang Gyatso Memorial Library, bestowed the degree to graduates, released the books and delivered a speech, during the 13th Graduation Day of the CHTS, Sarah.
• 25th April 2014: Prof. Rinpoche commenced teaching on ‘Ratnavali’ at Deer Park Institute, Bir, Himachal Pradesh.

• 4th April 2014: Prof. Rinpoche gave a talk on the late Bapa Phuntsok Wangyal’s contributions. Bapa Phuntsok Wangyal expired on 30th March at the last day of a prayer session, 2014.
• 2nd April 2014: Prof Rinpoche was invited to a press conference for the launch of the television serial “Buddha” which is telecast at Zee TV. He also gave a speech to the audience.

• 5th to 7th January 2014: Prof. Rinpoche was invited by Gyudme Tantric Monastery’s School of Snowland Tibetan Studies. The Rinpoche also gave a discourse on ‘Letter to a Friend’ (Shetrin) at the school, to an audience of 700.
• 23rd December 2013: Prof. Rinpoche visited Lha Charitable Trust at Ahimsa House to give a lecture on Buddhism and non-violence to Lha’s cultural exchange student group from Mexico.
• 21st to 22nd December 2013: Prof. Rinpoche attended the workshop of the Dandi Salt Satyagraha Memorial Project at IIT Mumbai, where he gave lectures and awarded certificates to the sculptors.
• 18th to 20th November 2013: Prof. Rinpoche gave a lecture on “The value of University Education” at the University of Barcelona, Spain. He also visited with the Tibetan Community.
• 13th November 2013: Prof. Rinpoche delivered a lecture to the medical faculty of the Mainz University, in Germany.
• 11th November 2013: Prof. Rinpoche gave a talk on Impulses from a Buddhist perspective, for the Research Project. The participants were researchers, professors, PhD candidates and special guests from the Academy of World Religion.
• 10th November 2013: Prof. Rinpoche had an informal meeting with the Tibetan Community in Germany, where he delivered inspiring lectures at the Tibetan Center in Hamburg.
• 5th November 2013: Prof. Rinpoche talked to the staff and students of Peton Mewon Tsuklag School, Gangkyi, HP, India, about the aims of the basic education policy adopted by the Exile Administration, and about the importance of taking personal responsibility.
• 22nd to 27th October 2013: Prof. Rinpoche visited Bodh Gaya and Delhi to deliver lectures during the Kagyur Translation Workshop. To create awareness, he gave a symposium on translating the Buddha’s words, and preserving a priceless legacy of India.
