In the morning of 3 March 2020, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche graced, as requested by the organisers, as the Chief Guest at the launch ceremony of the book The Great History of Utsang, organised by Central Executive Committee of Utsang Association, and convened at Norbu Hotel, Dharamshala.

Ven. Thupten Yarphel, the principal of Namgyal Monastery School, narrated his experiences from reading the volumes.

Thereafter the Utsang Association’s Scholarship Trust, in gratitude of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s kindness, was launched. And then mementos of thanks were awarded to book’s editor, proof-readers and the publication benefactors.

His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, as the Chief Guest, gave a talk on the occasion, pointing out the importance and quality of the Tibetan language; the deficiency of historiology in Tibet; the importance of Historiology; and so forth, in details.

The Association offered His Eminence a statue of Buddha Amitayus, in gratitude.
