His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche at Sanchi

Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche attended, as its Chancellor, the inaugural function of commencement of short-term degree courses at Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies.
Rinpoche gave a talk, expressing dissipation of concern for not having been able to commence the University’s courses so far, and explained the chronology of appointment as Chancellor, the attractive environment of the present temporary campus, the uncommon objectives for establishing this University, the way how the students should study, and other matters, in great details. Afterwards Rinpoche responded to the media’s questions.
Those who attended the inaugural function included Dr. Gauri Shanker, the Honourable Minister for Forest, Madhya Pradesh Govt; Prof. Shashi Prabha Kumar, the Vice-Chancellor of the University; Dr. Rajesh Gupta, the Registrar; officers from the Ministry of Culture, MP Govt; educationists; media personnel, and others.
On the morning of January 5, 2015, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche went for a holy visit of the Sanchi Stupa, for circumambulation and prayers.
A guidance talk to the University students

This afternoon Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave guidance advices to the students doing short-term Buddhist Studies course at Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies.
Beginning with the advice on the need to not waste time, Rinpoche touched upon the need to bear good motive; to be resolute to see to the completion of any task one undertakes; doing studies must not be for mere means of earning a living; to be free of the three faults of a defective container; not to assume (consider as so), rather to know and understand; the need to analyse through the four reasonings; to always live with (abide by) questions, and not rush for results; and others. Rinpoche answered the numerous questions.
