Gandhi and Globalization — A Workshop

A workshop on “Gandhi and Globalization” was held at Dr Vandana Shiva’s Bija Vidyapeet, a Bio-diversity Conservation Farm, in Doon Valley, from 21st to 29th November 2014. The Workshop was attended by many eminent experts from various parts of the world, including from Nepal and Bhutan. Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche was requested to speak on the topic, for two consequtive days (29th and 30th November). Rinpoche spoke on Globalization, outlining the problems created by global economic expansionism, and the solutions to the problems. In the afternoon session, Rinpoche spoke on the ways of living a happy and meaningful life; followed by Question and Answer session.

On 30th November, at the closing ceremony, Dr Vandana Shiva highlighted in her speech Rinpoche’s insights into true and false motives, and the difference between proper usage and carelessly excessive exploitation of the resources.

At the end, Rinpoche presented certficates to all the participants in the Workshop.
