Teachings at Lumla Tawang District
In the morning of 5 March 2020, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche departed Dharamshala, and via Delhi, arrived at Guwahati airport, where the officials of Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdila, welcomed His Eminence, and invited His Eminence to a nearby hotel, for overnight stay.
In the morning of the 6 March 2020, while waiting at Guwahati airport, for heading to Lumla, Shri Pema Khandu, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, accompanied by the member of the state parliament from Namsa, and the general secretary of Arunachal Pradesh called upon His Eminence.
Flying by a helicopter from Guwahati, His Eminence arrived at Lumla, where the officials of Gontse Monastery, Bomdila, and Tawang Monastery, the local leaders and representatives of various organisations accorded His Eminence a revered welcome. His Eminence was invited to the residence Dekyi Choeling. In the evening His Eminence gave time to some devotees seeking audience.
In the afternoon of the 7th, His Eminence gave time for some dignitaries seeking audience.
From 8 March, till 11 March, in the mornings His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche gave public teachings on The Six Preparatory Practices, requested by Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdila, on the occasion of the Sixth Mon Great Monlam Festival, convened at the front ground of Tara Temple, at Lumba, Tawang district.
Headed by the Abbot of Tawang Gadhen Namgyal Lhatse Monastery, along with the sangha members of the monastery, and the Acting Abbot of Bomdila Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, many devotees from many places near and far came to receive the teachings. In the afternoons, His Eminence gave time for those seeking audience.
In the afternoon of 9 March 2020, His Eminence paid a visit to the Tara Temple, and performed a consecration. His Eminence observed the arrangement of Choe-nga Choepa Offerings. Shri Jampel Tashi, the member of the state parliament from Lumla, and other leaders attended the Tara Temple visit.
In the morning of 12 March 2020, His Eminence sat in session for taking the longevity empowerment by oneself, as prelude to bestowing the same to others. Thereafter, His Eminence, along with Lumba and Tawang members of the state parliament planted trees at the front ground of Tara Temple.
Thereafter, His Eminence continued and completed the teachings on The Six Preparatory Practices, at the conclusion of which His Eminence bestowed a longevity empowerment of Wishfulfilling White Tara to a large congregation of devotees comprising of the Abbot and sangha members of Tawang Gadhen Namgyal Lhatse Monastery, the Acting Abbot and the sangha members of Bomdila Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, sangha members from various places, Lumla and Tawang members of the state parliament, Tawang District Magistrate and other dignitaries, and faithful ones from many places near and far.
In the afternoon of 12 March 2020, His Eminence visited Jamtse Gatsel-ling School, Lumla, Tawang district and gave a guidance talk to the students and the staff members. Subsequent to that, the members of the organising committee of Mon Great Monlam Festival sought audience with His Eminence, presented a report of the successful completion of the teaching programmes and so forth during the festival, and they requested His Eminence for guidance for their future works.
In the morning of 13 March 2020, the helicopter scheduled to take His Eminence, from Lumla to Guwahati, could not make it to Lumla, thereby His Eminence travelled by road in the afternoon, stopping for lunch at Jangsa. The public at Dirang, Senge district, offered His Eminence tea. At about 6pm His Eminence arrived at Gontse Gadhen Rabgyeling Monastery, Bomdila.
The following day, His Eminence departed Bomdila and arrived in Guwahati at midday.
