New Delhi and Mundgod visits
On 1 April 2019, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche arrived in New Delhi, from Dharamshala, and on the following two days His Eminence Rinpoche participated in the meeting of drafting curriculum of ancient Indian philosophies, convened at India International Center, New Delhi.
From 4 April 2019, till 6 April 2019, His Eminence Rinpoche participated in the launch of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Universal Ethics Curriculum for Indian Schools; and meetings related with that.
In the morning of 7 April 2019, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche departed New Delhi, and via Bangalore, arrived in Hubli, where His Eminence Rinpoche was accorded a revered welcome by the Honourable Abbot of Drepung Loseling Monastery, Pangon Rinpoche Reincarnate, the officials of Tsawa Khangtsen, and others.
His Eminence Rinpoche was invited to Tsawa Khangtsen, where on the following day His Eminence Rinpoche gave time for those requesting for audience.
From 10 am, till 4.30pm, His Eminence Rinpoche answered questions on a variety of topics, at a Q/A session organised by Tulku Association of Drepung Loseling Monastery, at Meditation and Science Center, of Drepung Loseling Monastery, Mundgod.
On 9 April 2019, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche graced the ceremonies of formal start of monastic studies of Pangon Rinpoche Reincarnate, convened at 6am at Drepung Great Congregation, of the two colleges combined; 10.30 am at Drepung Loseling Monastery; 12.30 pm at Drepung Phukhang Khangtsen. During the times in-between the ceremonies, His Eminence Rinpoche gave time for those requesting audience.
At 3 pm, at the request of Drepung Loseling Monastery, His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche graced the ceremony marking the founding of the Management Committee of Drepung Loseling Monastery. His Eminence Rinpoche gave a speech on the occasion. Present at the event were His Eminence Gadhen Trisur Rizong Rinpoche, His Eminence Sharpa Choejey Rinpoche, the Honourable Abbot and the Former Abbots of the monastery, and others.
Thereafter, His Eminence Rinpoche gave time for those requesting audience.
In the morning of 10 April 2019, His Eminence Rinpoche gave time for those requesting audience. Subsequent to that, His Eminence Rinpoche departed Drepung Loseling Tsawa Khangtsen, and via Hubli and Mumbia, arrived, at night, in New Delhi.
